My name is Rachel, a multi disciplined artist, illustrator, surface pattern, packaging, textiles and print designer.
I have 7 years experience in the design industry as a Senior Designer, specialising in giftware, surface pattern and packaging design. And a BSc in CGI modelling and animation
My work is playful, nostalgic, and highly decorative, rich in colour, pattern, and symbolism, blending handcrafted textures with a modern, graphic edge.
My design style is bold, vibrant, and heavily inspired by psychedelic, retro, and folk art aesthetics, traditional sign writing, film, and printmaking. I combine digital illustration with traditional printmaking techniques, bringing a tactile and handcrafted quality to my work.
I have a strong understanding of print processes from screen printing to lithography; I create designs that translate seamlessly across different mediums. I love working on graphic typography, character designs, and bold surface patterns.
I live and work by the sea in Poole, Dorset, UK. When I’m not working, you’ll find me bouldering, weight training, at the cinema or hiking on the coast path. I’ve often got a craft project on the go as well, including knitting, crochet, sign painting, clay modelling, calligraphy, screen printing, and quilting. The list goes on, but I don’t want to bore you.

Yes! I’m available to work on commissions.
I'd love to hear about your ideas for a project, whether you're a business, brand, agency or individual. I take on a wide spectrum of commissioned projects and am always interested in hearing about new opportunities. Please send me a message via the contact form or to rachelnorden.design@gmail.com -
I don’t have a set way of creating my designs, primarily I would say digitally. I often hand draw first as this feels more organic, it helps me work out layout and composition. I’m also love working with collage, or traditional print making techniques like lino block printing.

I’m in the process of getting a shop up and running to sell prints, cards and textiles goods.
Currently, a lot of the work in my portfolio is designs I created whilst working at Lush as a Gift Designer, for obvious licensing reasons I will not be selling Lush design prints, but you may be able to find something similar in my shop in the future!
