"ELLO THERE!" text in bold, black letters

My name is Rachel, a multi disciplined artist, illustrator, surface pattern, packaging, textiles and print designer.

I have 8 years experience in the design industry as a Senior Designer, specialising in packaging, giftware, and surface pattern design.

I also have a BSc in CGI modelling and animation from Bournemouth University.

My work is playful, nostalgic, and highly decorative, rich in colour, pattern, and symbolism, blending handcrafted textures with a modern, graphic style.

I’m heavily inspired by psychedelic, retro, and folk art aesthetics, traditional sign writing, film, and printmaking. I combine digital illustration with traditional printmaking techniques, bringing a tactile and handcrafted quality to my work.

I have a strong understanding of print processes from screen printing to lithography; I create designs that translate seamlessly across different mediums.

I live and work by the sea in Poole, Dorset, UK. When I’m not drawing, you’ll find me bouldering, weight training, watching a film or hiking on the coast path. I’ve often got a craft project on the go as well, including knitting, crochet, sign painting, clay modelling, calligraphy, screen printing, and quilting. The list goes on, but I don’t want to bore you.

Frequently asked question

  • Yes! I’m available to work on commissions.
I'd love to hear about your ideas for a project, whether you're a business, brand, agency or individual. I take on a wide spectrum of commissioned projects and am always interested in hearing about new opportunities. Please send me a message via the contact form or to rachelnorden.design@gmail.com

  • I don’t have a set way of creating my designs, primarily I would say digitally. I often hand draw first as this feels more organic, it helps me work out layout and composition. I also love working with collage and traditional print making techniques.

  • Exciting things are coming!
I’m in the process of getting a shop up and running to sell prints, cards and textiles goods.
